Now is the time when it's ok to fake it.....and we're talking tanning of course!
As we should all know by now, those gorgeous sun rays are responsible for 90% of ageing...it so is NOT worth the risk, and why bother when you can fake it so beautifully with just a little effort and then remain youthful and cool beneath your fabulous sun hat. Step 1. as the old Clinique mantra used to go "exfoliate, exfoliate" use a body scrub, or olive oil and sugar and a more gentle scrub or light peel for your face...be thorough..knees, elbows, heels....neglect these bits and its a giveaway. Step 2. PUT THE GLOVES ON!....brown palms are not a good look. Step 3. Apply your chosen tanning lotion...personally I don't think that St Tropez can be beaten...in upward sweeping strokes to avoid patches. Step 4. Allow to dry thoroughly while sipping herbal tea to combat the cellulite you may have noticed on your thighs!! Step 5. Now your good to go except....remember to apply SPF......enjoy the sunshine.

Yes! the sun is shining and the temptation (unless its just me!) is to run naked round the garden soaking up the vitamin D which is of course sooo good for us, helping our bodies to absorb calcium and phosphorous. However, we all know by now that our pale and interesting sun starved skin needs to be protected don't we?....we do...so slap it on girls and boys, don't forget the ears, scalp (sun can damage your hair too) and other vulnerable bits...and don't scare the neighbours.
Incidentally....the spf in your moisturiser does not generally last the day so re apply! Been reading about fabulous french Dr Cohen and his diet in Red magazine (one of my secret passions) and loving his philosophy. You can eat gorgeous healthy food...quite a lot of it too and still loose weight, whats more it includes wine (another passion..not so secret) cheese and chocolate...my dream diet.
And so with the coming of sunshine today I think its time for new regimes, exercise plans and whole healthy living vibes all round......working on our skin concentrate this week and hoping it'll be available by the end of this month!!! so keep tabs on ethica...effective natural products. Hooray!! a sunny day...truly sunny...cloudless....almost.....playing in the garden....walking the dog...
yoga...come along now...collective deep breath...aaaaah bliss....happy Sunday to all x Best beloved is away for the weekend and made me promise to take some 'time for myself', all mums know how easy this is!!
Saturday today and both kids are out on activities so....todays the day.....so far I have shovelled half a ton of slate chippings off a trailer and cleaned up one of the bedrooms...not a good start. Hoping to improve as the day goes on and squeeze in a pedicure and hair treatment before mowing the lawn and collecting the kids from riding and music lessons! ok, so we are looking at the formula for our new micro exfoliant, can anyone tell us what they are looking for in an exfoliant? We've come a long way since the days of Aapri and now you can have your grains organic, microscopic, glycolic and all have their uses and applications.
We at Ethica favour the micro grains so far as they perform so well, gentle on the sensitive skins but effective as a cell removing paste...also loving pineapple extract to lift cells gently from the surface leaving a radiant glow but, what do the rest of you think? Tell us and we'll take your advice.....looking forward to hearing from you. |
