WE'LL ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT NATURAL SKINCARE.......

Rewilding your skin

6/14/2022

I am lucky enough to live in an AOSB (area of outstanding beauty) Norfolk is one big green space, it positively glows in the bright light of summer sun. There are areas of ‘rewilding’ where wild ponies and long horned cattle roam freely, where the land is allowed to nurture itself as nature intended.. free from chemical or agricultural interference.
This has me thinking.. “why not ‘re wild’ your skin?”
By returning to the power of the plant and minerals that nature has to offer we too can glow in the bright summer sun!
ethica skincare is founded in nature. We use essentials and extracts, oils and butters, to blend complex formulations with valid results.
Take a look and see for yourself ….. rewild your skin.

With herbal balms, soothing soaks and mineral scrubs…..we look forward to seeing you there.

Autumn Glow

The light in the morning here in Norfolk is beautiful, sun lighting up orange leaves reminding us of the glow of summer past.
It’s getting chilly though and the air is cold...so when you’re outside protecting your skin is important in order to prevent dry, irritated or flaky skin.
Layer on the moisture in the form of a serum or light facial oil first thing then a moisturiser or balm to form a protective barrier when you go outside.
Oh...and remember the sunscreen. 😘

A Nip In the Air

We can all feel it in the air cant we? The leaves are begining to rustle and the dew is heavier on the grass and I, for one, look forward to embracing Autumn.
Although I'm busy making every remaining second of warm sunshine count, I have to admit that I love the changing of our seasons and the thoughts of cozy fires and frosty walks.
So...in tune with the coming of change we at ethica are making a few adjustments of our own.
Free delivery on all UK orders is first on the list as we think you should be able to see exactly what you are spending without any surprises at the checkout.
Keep an eye on our pages to see more change to come.

with Jasmine, almond and citrus blossoms filling the air Corfu reminds me to think of the sources of the fragrant pure essentials we use to make skincare and of how women thru the centuries have harnessed the intoxicatingly powers of mother natures plant life to enrich...soothe...heal and fragrance their lives....how fortunate we are!

Hydration

Norfolk has been decidedly chilly these last few days. Frosty fields means the central heating goes on to keep us toasty.
The problem though is that hot radiators mean dry and dusty atmosphere which in turn could dehydrate your skin, sinuses and cause dry eyes.
A bowl of water in the room will help to humidify as will house plants and turning the thermostat down just a fraction will not only help to save your skin but will lower your fuel bills too...and can make you feel less like a hybernating bear!
Moisturisers are super important in the winter months for hydration and protection and an aromatherapy mist can help to keep your skin looking dewy and calm.
check out our 'groovy mama' calming facial mist with mandarin, mint, lavender, petitgrain and ginger.

Why is hand made artisan skincare better?

11/30/2016

While catching up over a cuppa this morning with a lovely friend of mine and chatting, as we do. about skincare...ageing..moisturiser etc. My friend asked "how do I know if my products are actually worth what I'm spending?"  The answer in many cases with massive cosmetic companies might be 'NO' as much of the cost of each product is contributing towards massive advertising campaigns, glitzy and copious packaging, manufacturing cost etc....makes you wonder?   The difference with small batch, artisan production is enormous. Firstly we just don't do huge advertising campaigns, we try our best to spread the word using social media, leg work and the network of our own happy customers. Secondly we have much smaller food chains, no factories, less staff. Thirdly...speaking for ourselves...we use minimal packaging in our attempts to remain ethical. We don't believe that the customer should be paying for boxes or cellophane or unnecessary leaflets full of promotion.
The money our customers spend on our skincare products is paying for honest, organic ingredients in sufficient quantity to 'make a difference'......no bells and whistles....just honest to goodness skincare.

Bath Bomb Crazy!

11/29/2016

so we've been playing in the bath this week!....with our lovely new selection of bath milk bombs.
Instead of just using mineral salts (very restorative, muscle soothing and detoxifying) and essential oils (therapy for just about everything!...calming, rejuvenating, cleansing, toning....mother natures medicine!) We have been adding ground up botanical elements to boost our bombs with potent plant power.  Moroccan rose buds (we sourced these last year in Essaouira from a fabulously crazy herbalist) and English chamomile flowers, Lavender from our home county here in Norfolk and Mint...and Lemon Verbena....and Green tea.   This gave us gorgeous fragrant bath bombs with healing benefits and a pretty bath but it wasn't enough!...MORE! we cried....and so we added Hymalayan pink crystal salts (some of the purest elements you can find.....and then we added coconut milk powder to soften your skin and make a madly marvellous milky bath fit for Cleopatra herself!   The end result of our chemistry is a range of bath bombs unlike any known to woman or man....softening, luxurious, delightfully fragrant and pretty as a picture....we hope you will love them as much as we do. xx
